TDR: Brother v. Brother

We have moved onto the Conference Finals, folks. The Trailblazers put the Nuggets away in seven games, while the Warriors beat the Rockets in six. So last night kicked off Game 1 between the two in the Western Conference Finals. The main storyline here is it’s a showdown between the Curry brothers. Obviously, Steph plays for the Warriors and younger brother Seth plays for Portland. The parents had a tough decision on who to cheer for, so they went the hybrid jersey route. The cutest. This one was all Steph Curry, however. He put up 36 points to help his Warriors cruise to a 116-96 win and a 1-0 series lead. This was the game of the postseason for Steph with his nine 3-pointers. Tonight we have Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Bucks and the Raptors.
Annnnd we are also in the conference finals for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Last night the Bruins stuck it to the Carolina Hurricanes once again with a 2-1 win. They now lead the series 3-0, soooo things aren’t looking to hot for the Canes. One more win and Boston is in the Finals. The star of the night was Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask. He’s been a big difference maker as of late for Boston. So, tonight we have Game 3 between the Sharks and the Blues. Their series is tied up 1-1.

The NBA Draft is next month, but last night we had the lottery. So here’s how the lottery works without getting too into the nitty gritty: The 14 teams who did not make the playoffs are all eligible. There is a lottery machine with 14 ping pong balls in it numbered 1-14. The teams with the worst records have a higher percent chance of getting a winning combination of balls drawn. There are four balls drawn, and whoever was assigned that combo of numbers gets the first pick. It’s a whole math thing, and kind of confusing. BUT THE POINT IS … New Orleans won. That means they will get to pick first in the draft aka they will definitely pick Zion Williamson. The Duke standout is such a cutie and said he is still nervous. It’s a lot of attention! So we will officially find out if he is going to the Pelicans next month (spoiler alert: he is) and how the rest of the draft will play out.
