TDR: Lots of angry yelling sports men

Let’s check in with Manny Machado. We talked a lot about Manny during the offseason. He signed a 10-year $300 million contract with the Padres, which was the biggest contract ever, until both Bryce Harper and Mike Trout came along and spoiled his fun with bigger deals. Regardless, Manny is ushering in a new era for the Padres, and yesterday, he hit is first home run for his new team. The first of many, we presume. So yeah that’s literally the story. He hit a home run. That’s the tweet. BUT after talking about these guys for so long, we figured some check ins here and there would be nice. Keep on keeping on, Manny.

I'm a grown man!

Uhh, Ron? You alright there, buddy? Umpire Ron Kulpa got into it with Astros manager A.J. Hinch last night. Hinch came out of the dugout to discuss what he thought were several bad calls with Ron, and Ron was not happy about it. Oh no you better don’t question Ron’s decision making. He repeatedly told Hinch “I can do anything I want.” Maybe a bit of a stretch, Ron, but ok. Then, in the 4th inning he got in between the Astros pitcher and catcher warming up. Like he literally stood in between them so they couldn’t throw the ball to each other. He also kind of pushed the catcher away from him at one point. Just bizarre stuff.

Yer out

Welp, that was quick. Spurs coach Greg Popovich was ejected 63 seconds into their game against the Nuggets last night. Pop popped up (lol) when he thought a foul should’ve been called on the Nuggets’ Paul Millsap. He called a timeout and started complaining to the ref, who then hit him with two technical fouls and showed him the door. This is the second time this week Pop has been ejected. The Spurs are like omg can we please have our coach back. He jumped into Nuggets coach Michael Malone’s interview after the game to playfully talk about the situation. Pop asked “What happened? That person must have hit somebody or Somebody get hit tonight? Somebody get cursed at or anything?” Look at Old Greg having a sense of humor about the situation.
