TDR: No talky, no coachy

It is a big week in golf, but not a MAJOR week in golf. The Players Championship starts today, and it always boasts the best field in golf at a very nice/difficult course TPC Sawgrass. It is generally thought of as the most important tournament after the majors, and there is a debate every year if the Players should be considered a major along with the Masters, U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship. People get TRIGGERED by this debate, and this year was no different. But aside from all that, it is a great event. Justin Thomas along with Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson are the favorites this week. Ever heard of them?? So, yeah this is def a fun one and is generally a very interesting one to watch on tv come Sunday with some tough closing holes. If it is down to the wire, this could make your Sunday afternoon couch nap more interesting.

The bad place

So the Jaguars cut QB Blake Bortles yesterday. I know, I know another Jags story. But this one could have implications that runneth over! If you are a fan of The Good Place, you know that the Jason Mendoza character is a swamp rat from Jacksonville, Fl who is obsessed with Blake Bortles. Take a moment to learn more about how the Jax references came to be. It warms my heart for my city to be talked about in such a way. So now the question is, what will they do on the show bc Blake was released?! What will Jason do?! Will he adopt Nick Foles as his main man? Will he follow Bortles wherever he goes? So many questions. This is easily (for completely unbiased reasons) the best comedy arc on the show, so imma need answers.

Slow down

Welp, that was super dumb. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson recorded and posted a video of him driving 105 mph while not wearing a seatbelt. I definitely remember watching a similar FB live a random dumb kid posted that ended in a crash and him going to the hospital, so consider yourself lucky, Lamar. He apologized for the video and deleted it from his Instagram. He said he would try to set a better example going forward. Lamar’s mom is probably so mad and going to have more than a few words with him.

Ready for a comeback

LSU men’s basketball coach Will Wade is ready to be back coaching again. He was put on indefinite leave after it was revealed he was trying to offer star freshman Javonte Smart different non-scholarship stuff to get him to play at LSU. The wire tap caught Will red-handed, so the university needed some space to think about what to do next while the investigation continues. He released a statement saying he thinks he should be allowed to coach even though he refuses to sit down and discuss the wiretap until the FBI investigation concludes. Unfortunately for him, it sounds like it will be no talky no coachy. Hey, I’m fine with that. If UF beats Arkansas today, we will probably face LSU next in the SEC tournament. So keep it up, Will. This is just fine with us.
