Fadeaway

Houston, we have liftoff. Last night, the Rockets went OFF, setting an NBA record by making 26 three pointers in a game. As you might expect, that barrage of threes led to a comfortable win for the Rockets, as they prevailed 136-118 over the Wizards. That’s a lot of points all around.

He's going to Syracuse

Welp, grab your tissues. If you haven’t been shedding some tears of Christmas movies this season, we have something to get you in that emotional spirit. Cooper Dawson is a high school senior in South Carolina. Yesterday was Early Signing Day for college football, so kids all over the country were revealing where they would take their talents next year. Cooper brought along his friend Kingsley Feinman, who has cerebral palsy, to help him make his announcement. Cooper whispered his school choice to Kingsley, and Kingsley told the crowd. “He’s going to Syracuse.” So many cry-face emojis. When Cooper tore his ACL last summer, Kingsley taught him the only disability was a bad attitude. What a good couple of guys.

Stepping away

Josh Gordon announced this morning that he will be stepping away from football for the time being to focus on his mental health. Gordon, who has very publicly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction in the past, seems to be attacking his problem head on with the announcement, but there are also rumors that he could be facing a suspension. Whatever the case, here’s to hoping he gets the help he needs, and can get back out onto the field soon if that’s what he wants.
