TDR: What can Brown do for you?

Move the chains
PTL we have an end to the Antonio Brown saga. *Drumroll* The Steelers have agreed to trade Antonio Brown to the OAKLAND RAIDERS in exchange for a third and fifth round draft pick. He has a three-year deal for $54.125 million with $30.125 million guaranteed. What a huge get for the Raiders who were on the struggle bus last season. QB Derek Carr will have a new favorite wide receiver to throw to, and Oakland has a nice, solid foundation to re-build upon thanks to this trade. Coach John Gruden is literally giddy about AB calling him the hardest working man in football. Congrats you three.
We are under a week away from Selection Sunday for March Madness. Actually the best time of the sports year (in our humble opinions). This weekend, Virginia wrapped up the regular season ACC title and LSU took the SEC. Kind of an awkward time in Baton Rouge what with Coach Will Wade and freshman star Devontae Smart both suspended indefinitely over that pesky wiretap. Fans viciously booed their athletic director as he walked to his seat for LSU’s final home game, so things are going well down there. UNC beat Duke once again Saturday night to potentially lock up a No. 1 seed for the tournament, and Kentucky will probably be joining them. So now we head into conference tournament week. This is the final step to determine who will make it to March Madness. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter … we will be breaking this down further for all our Ralliers who only tune into college basketball come tournament time. We gotchu.

Ya know business is business, but Blake Snell is probably feeling a little underappreciated by the Tampa Bay Rays. So, Blake won the Cy Young award for the American League last year aka he was voted the best pitcher in the AL. His reward from the Rays … a $5,500 raise! Womp, womp. That brings him to a grand total salary of $573,700. Usually teams give their young guys who have accomplished such things a little bit more of a bump, but guess it wasn’t going to work for Tampa’s books this year. Blake issued a statement saying he was fine with it and is looking forward to the season, but he said to other outlets that it was disappointing. Technically, the Rays are 100% allowed to keep Blake’s salary close to the MLB minimum, which they did, because he is something called a “pre-arbitration player”. AKA he is still in his first three years of MLB service. You can bet they lost a lot of good will with him though, and he will probably look for other options once he is a free agent in a few years.

Olympic cyclist found dead
This is so sad. Twenty-three year old Olympic cyclist Kelly Caitlin was found dead in her on-campus residence at Stanford on Friday. Her dad said she killed herself. Caitlin was on the 2016 Olympic team that won silver in Rio De Janeiro, and she was on the national team while pursuing her graduate degree. She was one of a set of triplets, and her sister said she was talented at everything she did. It’s so, so sad. The Washington Post wrote a nice piece about her.
